Encyclopedia of Alabama - A free, online resource on Alabama history, culture, geography, and natural environment.  This site offers articles on Alabama's famous people, historic events, sports, art, literature, industry, government, plant and animal life, agriculture, recreation, and so much more.

tglf-webGale Legal Forms - is available through the Alabama Virtual Library.  You can access state-specific legal forms including wills, real estate contracts, power of attorney, landlord tenant, premarital agreements, and more.  Forms are fill-in-the-blank and downloadable and are constantly updated to reflect the latest Alabama laws.  This resource is accessible on the College & University Resources, Adult Resources, and All Resources pages. Most Alabama residents will not need a password to access this resource or the other resources available through the Alabama Virtual Library.

Heritage Quest Online - Research your ancestry!  You'll find U.S. federal census records, family histories, published genealogies, historical books, Revolutionary War records, Freedman's Bank records, and more to help you trace your American ancestors' paths across history.  Remote access is available.  If you are using Heritage Quest from home you will be prompted to enter your 14 digit Rainbow City Library Card number.

Homework Alabama - Free Online Tutoring, Job Search Assistance and Academic & Career Resources for Alabama residents from Tutor.com.  Tutors are available from 3pm-10pm, Central Time. There are also Homework Resources, Test Prep Resources and Career Resources available 24/7.

The Merck Manuals - The Merck Manuals are medical resource for professionals and consumers. The digital form has both a professional version, with more advanced content for medical students and professionals, and a consumer version, with easier to understand content for laypeople, and translations to many languages, including Spanish, Korean, and German.  Access to the Merck Manuals are made possible by the Alabama Public Library service and is part of Merck’s Global Medical Knowledge 2020 initiative, which aims to make current medical information accessible to 3 billion professionals and patients around the world by 2020.
